SLO County reports 184 new COVID-19 cases, 6 additional deaths

San Luis Obispo County reports the deaths of another six people who tested positive for COVID-19.

Health officials say one of the patients was in their 40s, four in their 80s and one in their 90s. All reportedly had underlying health problems.

The county also added 184 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the county’s total to 7,895 confirmed cases on Dec. 15.

Twenty-two people are hospitalized, including seven patients who are in the ICU. Another 1,386 people are recovering at home and health officials say 6,429 people have recovered.

In San Luis Obispo County, 52 people have been killed as a result of COVID-19.

  • Atascadero State Hospital (patients) – 26
  • Avila Beach – 13
  • San Simeon – 7

The location of 28 additional cases is being investigated and a further 10 are listed as “other”, including communities with fewer than five cases. The Health Department does not identify those locations.

Community COVID-19 test sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
