SLO County adds 217 new COVID-19 cases over 3 days, 2 additional deaths

San Luis Obispo province reported 217 new cases of COVID-19 over three days, bringing the total number of cases on Feb. 8 to 18,684 confirmed cases.

88 new cases were added on Saturday, 83 new cases were added on Sunday and 46 new cases were added on Monday.

The county also added two new COVID-19-related deaths. To date, a total of 196 deaths have been attributed to the virus in SLO County.

Health officials say 43 people are currently hospitalized. Another 1,136 people are recovering at home and health officials say 17,286 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County reports that 20 of the county’s 38 accredited and staffed ICU beds are currently occupied. Eight of these are taken by COVID-19 patients.

The location of 75 additional cases is being investigated, and a further seven are listed as “other”, including communities with fewer than five cases. The Health Department does not identify those locations.

Community COVID-19 test sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
