San Luis Obispo County added 282 new cases of COVID-19 in three days, bringing the county’s total to 17,887 confirmed cases on Feb. 1.
164 new cases were reported on Saturday, 65 new cases on Sunday and 53 new cases on Monday.
Health officials say 52 people are currently hospitalized. Another 1,184 people are recovering at home and health officials say 16,445 people have recovered.
San Luis Obispo County reports that 15 of the county’s 38 accredited and staffed ICU beds are currently occupied. Thirteen of these have been taken by COVID-19 patients.
The county also added nine new COVID-19-related deaths. To date, a total of 177 deaths have been attributed to the virus in SLO County.

The location of 66 additional cases is being investigated, and another six are listed as “other”, including communities with fewer than five cases. The Health Department does not identify those locations.
Community COVID-19 test sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
