The incredibly deep roguelike deck building RPG Kill the spire will get the tabletop treatment, board game makers recently announced Contention Games, allowing people to explore the game’s inventive card battles together in real life.
According to Contention’s website, it is Kill the spire board game seats up to four players, with rounds lasting about 45 minutes each (just under beating an entire run through the existing video game).
There isn’t a lot of other information on the table-top version yet, but based on the description, the premise of fighting through a series of dungeons with cards to attack and spells remains intact.

Contention, who also created the card-based 4X strategy game Empire: The Contention, an official Kickstarter holds for the Kill the spire board game this spring. (Empire was also funded this way, with sets just sent to lenders.)
Many video games have had tabletop adjustments lately. Last September, CMON announced that it would be making an official board game based on the cinematic shooter The last of us. Kill the spire, since it’s a video game that pretty much already plays as a tabletop, an easier customization should be.
