Six Dominicans are arrested in Spain for assault on brothels and assaults

Security forces have arrested six people of Dominican descent for violent theft in two brothels and for sexually assaulting two women in one of them, located in the city of Tarrasa, in the Spanish province of Barcelona (northeast).

As reported Thursday by Catalonia’s regional police, the group used “extreme” violence and is also related to a raid on a private home. Two of those arrested entered the prison by order of the court.

The investigation began on September 22, 2020, when the Central Sexual Violence Unit learned of a robbery with violence and intimidation in a prostitution building involving three women.

The attackers threatened them with knives to steal cell phones, jewelry and cash, and sexually assaulted two of them “in a very humiliating way.”

Police were able to identify two young men of Dominican descent because of their relationship to this attack.

The agents discovered two more attacks, one in another similar site on August 27 and another in a house on December 2, both in Barcelona. The perpetrators were also youths of Dominican descent who used violence on the victims, tied them up with bridles and threatened them with knives or pistols.

Researchers concluded that the three attacks were related to and could be the work of the same people.
