Shares of silver miners dominated the NYSE’s list of biggest gains during Monday’s morning trading, as the trading frenzy that heavily shorted stocks like GameStop Corp. GME caused,
and AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. AMC,
skyrocketing last week appears to be engulfing the silver metal. Silver futures SI00,
skyrocketed 12% in morning trading to an 8-year high, putting them on track for their biggest one-day gain since March 2009. Gatos Silver Inc.’s share of GATO,
41.9% charged to lead all NYSE winners, while Hecla Mining Co. HL shares,
second on the list with an increase of 36.6%, Endeavor Silver Corp. shares EXK,
came third with a profit of 26.7% and Coeur Mining Inc.’s shares of CDE,
came fourth with a rally of 26.6%. Also on the shares of First Majestic Silver Corp. AG,
Up 23.4% and Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. FSM,
18.0% gained. The stock rally comes as the S&P 500 SPX,
is up 0.5%.
