According to composer Akira Yamaoka, a new Silent Hill game may be in the works.
The Silent Hill series is one of the most popular games. The disappointment when Konami the long-awaited Silent hills after its stunning playable trailer, PT, was felt in the game landscape. Since the cancellation and very public divorce from Hideo Kojima, the thought of a new one Silent Hill was almost dead. That is, until today. In an interview with ALHub’s BoJrayed, Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka revealed he had a big announcement to make, but just can’t do it yet.
When asked about his upcoming projects, Yamaoka said, “If you keep it in general terms, I think you’ll probably hear something this summer that should be announced. I think you’re hoping to hear it a bit, “he added,” but we’ll keep it very general. ‘

Although he clearly didn’t confirm he was working on one Silent Hill game, it’s hard to imagine what else he’s talking about. The interview focused mainly on his recent work for Bloober Team’s The medium released last week, but this new information does not match. Bloober Team announced yesterday that it has already started work on its next horror project, but has said nothing about whether Yamaoka will return for its score.
At this point, we can only wait for more clues to be left by potential developers for the rumor game. After the disappointing ending, fans of the series are certainly hungry for more. If Yamaoka’s next project is what we “hope to hear,” then imagine it is something big.
