The program was interrupted Friday night after four employees experienced reactions shortly after receiving the vaccine. Officials said no other cases have been reported to Advocate Aurora Health.
So the immediate concern was, is there something wrong with that batch of vaccines, but after consulting with our health departments and also realizing that that same batch of vaccine was being used in multiple other locations, both inside and outside Aurora Health attorney, and no other serious concerns have been reported. One out of four cases turned out to be a serious allergic reaction. The employee is doing well and was fired on Saturday. The other three experienced mild reactions that can occur after vaccination.

“I can tell you that one of the team members who had a milder reaction was fired home, was a doctor on our medical staff and we contacted that doctor. [Saturday] who felt great, saying he is absolutely 100% behind continuous vaccination of our population, “said Dr. Citronberg.
The Lake County Health Department issued a statement:
“As COVID-19 vaccinations are rolled out in Lake County, we continue to closely monitor their safety and efficacy. Monitoring for side effects is part of the standard process with vaccines, and it is not unexpected that some minor reactions will occur as some people respond. vaccinations different from others. “
As a precaution, Advocate Aurora Health is extending their post-vaccination evaluation period to 30 minutes for all individuals at all their locations. They continue to encourage employees to get vaccinated, but it is not mandatory.
