Shredder’s Revenge confirmed for Switch with new trailer

Who is your favorite?

As part of yesterday’s Nintendo Indie World live stream, publisher Dotemu confirmed it would bring its cool looking fighting game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge to the Switch platform. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer that gave us a quick look at our half-height heroes in action.

The nostalgic beat ’em-up will take the TMNT team against classic enemies from the hit comic and TV series, including Bebop and Rocksteady, Baxter Stockman and the Triceratons. All of this will lead to a one-way trip to Dimension X and a showdown with the turtles’ nemesis, Shredder. Sadly, the new trailer didn’t confirm the whispers that April O’Neil and Master Splinter will make their presence felt as playable characters – but developer Tribute Games notes that “there is more to come.”

With an aesthetic that captures turtley’s classic Konami arcades Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the sequel, Turtles over timefrenetic four-player action, the promise of deep combat mechanics and characterful animation, Shredder’s Revenge is already starting to be a great time for TMNT fans. I was one little turned off by the “hit” sound effects in this trailer, which seem bland, but this one is only alpha images. I’m really looking forward to jumping up here with friends when it finally comes out of the sewer. PIZ-ZA POWER!
