Should the Steelers trade for Texans DE JJ Watt?

There’s almost no chance the Pittsburgh Steelers will be able to call on Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. The costs will simply be too high. However, this doesn’t mean that the Steelers still can’t trade with Houston to bring Steeler Nation a lot of fun.

According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, some of Texas’ fire sales could include perennial All-Pro defensive end JJ Watt. With brothers TJ and Derek already on the Steelers roster, it would be an impressive synergy if Pittsburgh could also argue with JJ.

But do the Steelers need him? The easy answer is, of course. Despite being only a year younger than Cam Heyward, Watt is still playing great football and would be a great addition to Steelers’ defense line with Heyward and Stephon Tuitt.

Unfortunately, the Watt trade this off-season is a luxury Pittsburgh just can’t afford. Between Watt’s salary cap and the value of this year’s draw, it’s hard to imagine the Steelers stretching out for every player.
