Compostela.— After a confrontation between elements of the Mexican military and armed civilians in Compostela, Nayarit, three suspected criminals were arrested, including a person nicknamed El M3, an alleged hitman for the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG).

After receiving several reports of what happened, more elements from the Secretariats of the National Defense (Sedena), Security and Civil Defense (SSPC), as well as the National Guard and Municipal Police, have traveled to the site.

A recording was also released, presumably from the military, in which he reported the arrest of the alleged hit man known as El M3.

The man claimed his name was Erick Joel del Toro López, who was El M3, who belonged to the CJNG and was a hit man. Although a soldier asked him if he was a hit man or a plaza boss, the man denied it and they later read him his rights.
During the confrontation, Federal Highway 200, at the junction with Los Ayala, remained closed, generating long lines of vehicles.
In the afternoon, the governor of the state, Antonio Echevarría García, acknowledged the work of the armed forces in the state through a post on social networks.
