Shawnee Co. launches a survey for Phase 2 individuals and organizations interested in vaccines

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Like other surrounding counties, the Shawnee County Health Department (SCHD) has launched an online survey for those interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Currently, it is specific to those identified as part of the Kansas Vaccination Plan – Phase 2. More information on who is eligible for vaccine at specific stages can be found at www.kansasvaccine.gov

Individuals or organizations who meet the listed criteria and are interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine as part of Phase 2 are encouraged to complete the following study / interest form: http://bit.ly/ ShawneeCoVaccineSurvey Additional details for vaccination timelines and schedule will be communicated as more details on the administration of Phase 2 vaccines are released and additional vaccine doses become available.

“We encourage all community members to receive the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available to them,” said Craig Barnes, Division Manager Shawnee County Health Department. “We are working hard to complete vaccinations for healthcare workers and others as part of phase 1 so that we can quickly transition to those in phase 2 when we get that guidance. Although the first doses of vaccine are here, we must remain vigilant and keep wearing our masks, washing our hands and keeping our distance. “

The administration of the SCHD vaccine for Phase 1 individuals is still ongoing, with 1,788 vaccine doses administered as part of the collaboration with GraceMed. In accordance with current KDHE guidelines, we will complete the first stage before moving to additional stages. The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine requires two doses, separated by 28 days. Subjects should receive both doses to be considered fully vaccinated. Current and future planning is based on vaccine availability and is subject to change based on vaccine offerings.
