Sexiest game ever Hades takes away five BAFTA Games Awards

Last night, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) held its annual BAFTA Games Awards, with a deluge of outstanding 2020 releases on the agenda in hopes of gaining recognition from Britain’s premier arts and media academy.

And when the curtain finally fell for the evening’s festivities, Supergiant Games’ Hades emerged with the heaviest trophy bag, having won a total of five awards in various categories. The fantasy dungeon crawler took home the gongs for artistic performance, game design and narrative, with actor Logan Cunningham receiving the award for a supporting role for his work in which he portrays numerous characters from the underworld. Hades rounded off the evening by winning the coveted Best Game award – a string of accolades for a brilliant release.

Despite being nominated in a whopping 13 categories, Naughty Dog’s has The Last of Us Part II only managed to take three awards: Best Animation, Audience Voted EE Game of the Year and Actor Laura Bailey winning lead for her outstanding portrayal of dual protagonist / antagonist Abby Anderson. Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons packed Best Multiplayer and “Game Beyond Entertainment”. Waving the flag for the little boys, Phobia Entertainment won the best debut for their gooey body horror title, Ace.

Congratulations to all winners and nominees. There was a lot to hate about 2020, but at the very least, it can’t be denied that our favorite pastime absolutely knocked it out of the park with hit, after hit, after hit. Check out the full list of winners below.
