Seniors wait for COVID vaccine mistaken for ‘illegal rave’

Party on, guys.

Police officers rushed to a location in England to break what they thought was an illegal rave – only to discover it was a crowd of older people waiting for a coronavirus vaccine, according to reports.

Concerned neighbors called police to report revelers who may be showing off COVID-19 regulations outside Saxon Hall’s event space before dawn on Friday in Essex, according to Echo News.

Instead of ravers, cops found retirees – some as old as 90, hobbling on walking sticks – lining up for shots.

“It was really funny when the police arrived because they had learned there was a ‘rave’ going on at Saxon Hall – only to find 80 and 90 year olds in wheelchairs, zimmer frames and walking sticks, patiently lining up for their vaccinations” , said Dennis Baum, president of Saxon Hall.

Essex police soon realized there were more grannies than glowsticks at the event and helped direct traffic around the building, which is generally used for weddings and banquets.

“It was absolute chaos and very cold. The [parking lot] got chock-full of 80-year-old drivers, ”Baum told Harwich and Manningtree Standard. “Grumpy old men and grumpy old women were plentiful.”

He added, “Nevertheless, as a balancing act, many more very grateful people couldn’t have been more grateful to receive the vaccine.”

The calls falsely reported that the underground bash had come after a nearby church was vandalized in an illegal New Year’s Eve rave.

In that case there were a DJ and porta-potties at the rave and three people were arrested
