A portion of the proceeds from the line will go to the Rare Impact Fund, which provides mental health services to low-income communities.
In an interview with Refinery29, the hitmaker said she wanted to create beauty products that were versatile in use and made with non-harmful ingredients.
Gomez specifically said, “I wanted this line to feel like everything fits together, and you could rely on it.”
She also shared how she envisioned Rare Beauty as a company actively making a difference in the lives of its customers.
“In addition to giving them access to so many different shades and colors, I want people to feel like they have a community they can turn to and resources that are useful to them,” she said.

Building the hype: After being featured in the promotional photo, Gomez revealed the track list for her upcoming Spanish-language EP, entitled Revelacion, as well as a new album cover article
Shortly after the Rare Beauty post was created, Gomez revealed the track list for her upcoming EP Revelacion and a new album cover article.
The songwriter first teased a Spanish-language project in 2011, but made little reference to it over the next few years.
On January 14, the artist released the single De Una Vez, which seemingly confirmed suspicions that she was following up on her earlier statement.
That same day, a music video for the song premiered on Gomez’s official YouTube account and received critical acclaim for the visuals.

Further speculation about the project arose when murals with different song titles were installed in the Mexican coastal town of Sayulita.
Later that month, Gomez officially made the EP available for pre-order and released the single Baila Conmigo shortly after.
The upcoming release will consist of seven songs, three of which will feature features from artists Rauw Alejandro, Myke Towers and DJ Snake.
Revelacion will be released on March 12.
