Martín Lasarte is the new coach of the Chilean team for the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers, the Chilean Football Association reported Wednesday.

“Lasarte will take command of La Roja to face the qualifiers of Qatar 2022, the Copa América Argentina – Colombia 2021 and all the challenges of the national team. The agreement with the coach will be extended immediately upon qualification for the World Cup ”, the organization said through its communications department.

Lasarte is the first to test the home games against the Paraguay team on March 25 and five days after his visit to Ecuador. Chile is currently sixth in the South American qualifiers with four points from four games.

The 59-year-old Uruguayan has extensive experience in Chilean football, he coached the University of Chile and the Catholic University between 2012 and 2015. He also coached the Royal Society of Spain, the National of Uruguay, A Wasl of the United Arab Emirates. and Al-Ahly of Egypt.
