When we think of Ryan Murphy’s American horror story, certain terms jump immediately in mind. “Precision.” “Laser focus.” “That man with the drill penis who does terrible things to Max Greenfield.” And yet it sounds like Murphy and his regular cast of actors – now with Macaulay Culkin, natch – might be a jolt of shock, dividing their attention a bit for the show’s next episode. That is, the 10th season of AHS has now formally announced the title: Dual function

Except get it right away ‘Science Fiction Double Feature’ stuck in our heads – thank you, Ryan– the title also refers to what will apparently be a split structure for the new season, with one story ‘by the sea’ and the other ‘by the sand’. Of course, FX’s promotion department broadcasted this idea by showing a video of a beach, which is both sea and sand, so … Hmm.

This is not the first time AHS has split his focus formal, of course; the series delights in occasional propellers of its own size, particularly with the Roanoke season that has jumped from a fake documentary story to in-the-moment horror. It is also normal a minute ago since the show returned with its extreme version of camp horror on TV; the last season, 1984, wrapped in all its VHS-y glory in 2019. No word yet on exactly when, Dual function is expected to debut, but series regular guests Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and more are all expected to return to the Bloody Herd.
