Seattle Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen was recently triggered from the injured reserve after sustaining a torn plantar fascia in his foot. He appeared in his first game last week, but will face the San Francisco 49ers in the Seattle regular season finale.
Although he was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report, coach Pete Caroll confirmed that Olsen would not play on Sunday.
“We’re going to keep him out of this game, we’re going to do that,” said Carroll after practice. ‘To make sure he’s ready next week. Just a little flare-up from last week, but he handled it well, practiced today and got through and all, but we think it’s best to give him another weekend. “
Carroll said Olsen had really just gotten a “tweak” and that he is expected to return to practice next Wednesday, giving him nearly a week to recover before playoff preparations begin.
