Screenwriter of the ‘Elite’ series, Jaime Vaca, arrested for drug trafficking | Crimes | Spain – People – Culture


Jaime Vaca, a 43-year-old Spanish screenwriter, was arrested last Sunday for possession of various narcotics, including ecstasy or popper stand out.

And what started out as a routine operation to enforce biosecurity measures resulted in the seizure of the drugs the screenwriter hid in his suitcase.

Vaca is part of the ‘staff’ of Spanish productions recognized as ‘Elite’ (2019), ‘Las chicas del cable’ (2017) and ‘Velvet’ (2014).

In Spain the illegal use and possession of drugs in public places is a criminal offense under the criminal code.

Likewise, in the Ministry of Health’s National Drugs Plan, the possession of harmful substances such as cocaine, heroin or ecstasy is considered a general deficiency and can lead to 3 to 6 years in prison and a fine equivalent to three times the value of the drug.

It is not yet known what the legal consequences for Vaca will be.
