SAWS opens bulk water distribution sites on Friday

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Water System opens seven water distribution locations at its pumping stations on Friday to provide customers with water.

Residents will have to bring their own clean containers, such as pitchers, to fill with water, the utility said in a press release.

Customers receive five liters of water per person. As a precaution, the water should be boiled before drinking or used in cooking, in line with current advice on cooking water for the city, officials said.

Opening hours are on Fridays from 12:00 to 18:00. From Saturday, opening hours are every day from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The sites will remain open until the water system returns to normal.

Customers can expect the possibility of long lines at the pumping stations.
