In every generation a murderer is born: one girl in the whole world, a chosen one. But then she grows up and decides to hang her leather pants and leave the killing someone else

It’s been nearly three years since we’ve heard news about the Buffy the Vampire Slayer restart /not-a-reboot. The new take on the beloved series was announced in 2018, with Monica Owusu-Breen (Agents of SHIELD Midnight, Texas) called showrunner. But TV’s original Buffy, Sarah Michelle Gellar, has made one thing clear: her days of killing are over.

Gellar was a guest on the Through with Mario Lopez podcast and when asked about the possibility of her picking up the stake again, she said she is a “Woe bit, how do they say, long in the tooth” and “way too tired and cranky to do that job again “Girl, same thing.

After all, the show was “a metaphor for the horrors of adolescence, ‘She said to good Sir Slater. ‘I really think that story lends itself – it would be interesting to see how a chosen one would deal with it. I don’t think it is me, I don’t think I should be the one doing it. “

This is no surprise given her statement about it Joss Whedon, and how perfectly she is associated with him. Additionally, when news of the reboot first fell, the property was owned by 20th Century Fox and Whedon’s involvement was confirmed. We don’t know yet what effect the charges against Whedon have or the new ownership at Disney means for the future of Buffy as we know it, but if the last episode taught us anything, the Slayer is much more than just one person.
