Sandra Scully, wife of Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully, passed away Sunday night from complications from a long period with ALS, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced. She was 76.
Sandra Scully leaves behind a large family with six children, 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She and Vin Scully were married for 47 years.
Vin Scully, 93, served as the Dodgers play-by-play announcer for 67 years before retiring at the end of the 2016 season.
In a statement, Stan Kasten, CEO of Dodgers, wrote that Sandra Scully was “Vin’s biggest fan and always lovingly supported him at Dodger Stadium until she started her battle against ALS. She really was the rock of Vin and the Scully family, and that she will also be missed. “
