San Miguel Deputy FMLN Candidate Dies | News from El Salvador

Dr. Juan Bustillo received medical treatment in San Salvador.

Last Friday morning Dr. Juan Bustillo Mendoza, surgeon general and member of the San Miguel City Council and FMLN deputy candidate for that department, passed away.

He died in the city of San Salvador and will be veiled in the memorial chapels, his funeral will take place Saturday afternoon, said Margarita Rodríguez, department secretary of the FMLN in San Miguel.

“As a party we are appalled and we give all our solidarity to the family and we mourn the loss and death of a fellow soldier of our party,” he said.

As was known to people close to Dr. Bustillo, he suffered from cancer and a few days ago underwent surgery, apparently the death of the doctor is related to this disease.

Likewise, the Mayor of San Miguel, Miguel Pereira, expressed support for Dr. Bustillo.

“San Miguel has lost a great person, a professional who served from the medical field and from public administration as part of my City Council. A wonderful friend, brother, in the hands of our creator today, my deepest condolences to all of his family, my prayers are with you.
