San José earthquakes, new option for Chofis López

By not going into Chivas’s plans, Chofis was able to find his new team in MLS and the club Almeyda is leading could hire him.

With just days to go before the 2021 Clausura tournament kicks off, another opportunity has been added for Chivas midfielder Eduardo López, after the MLS’s San José Earthquakes are interested in the services of the Guadalajara youth team.

Sources close by ESPN, confirmed the interest of the North American team’s board of directors in acquiring the player for his next campaign, after he will not make plans with Chivas, so there have already been discussions between the two guidelines.

So far, the economic issue has been the main obstacle to the negotiation, after the MLS team failed to reach a significant price for the player’s services, so they are in talks so far.

Another important reason why negotiations could take place is that the California team’s technical director, Matías Almeyda, has recommended signing the Guadalajara youth squad after joining his squad during his time with Chivas.

This given, Eduardo Lopez He would join Carlos Fierro and Oswaldo Alanís, as other elements who left Mexican football to look for an opportunity in the MLS, right in ‘Pelado’ Almeyda’s team.

Despite the fact that negotiations between the two clubs are well advanced and trying to reach an agreement on the economic issue, the set of León and Tijuana remain the other possible destinations for López for the next campaign.

López would become the second player to leave the rojiblanca institution, after José Juan Vázquez was loaned to the Toluca team, so the only player who would not have a team so far is defender Alexis Peña.
