Hoping to upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy smartphone next year? If not, you may be formulating plans after hearing how the company is prioritizing the development of its future records: mobile chef TM Roh has hinted at cheaper folding items and maybe S Pens on more phones.

In a blog post, Roh argues that much of his 2021 focus stems from trends this year tinged by the pandemic. That means improving the multimedia consumption experience and enhancing AI for local processes such as video editing. Whether this shows up in cameras capable of capturing more than all pixels or whether Bixby is turning away from online services – well, we can hope for it, right? – is far from certain, but we know which direction to look.

More explicitly, the company is committed to making more smartphones with foldable displays that are “accessible to everyone” and that will integrate “people’s favorite aspects of the Galaxy Note experience” into other devices in our lineup. Extrapolating those comments, we can wait for a Galaxy Z-series device to cost a lot less than $ 1,300 like the Z Flip was this year, as well as the lack of a special Note release – and this is by far not the the first time we talked about something like a “Snote” or the demise of the series.

Of course, the biggest pandemic trend going on right now is economic uncertainty, so the lower all of these costs, the more likely Samsung can get people to buy some of it.
