- Samsung has unveiled the 4G version of the Galaxy A32.
- It is the first Galaxy A phone with a 90Hz refresh rate.
- Despite the lack of 5G, the A32 4G also offers a number of hardware fanatics compared to the 5G variant.
The Samsung Galaxy A32 was launched earlier this month with smooth lines and smart 5G. But one thing was seemingly missing: a display with a high refresh rate. Now the company has announced the 4G variant that is seemingly filling this gap and more.
Despite its name, the Galaxy A32 4G seems like a very different beast from its 5G sibling. In many ways, it is also an improved version of the 5G player.
The Galaxy A32 4G has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate – a big step up from the 6.5-inch LCD screen of the 5G version. This also makes the 4G flavor the first Galaxy A phone to feature a high refresh rate display. That AMOLED panel also gives the A32 4G in-display fingerprint sensor smarts, replacing the side-mounted capacitive sensor on the A32 5G.

Other changes include an improvement to the rear camera. While the 5G version settles for a 48MP primary sensor, the 4G option adds a 64MP sensor in addition to 8MP ultrawide, 5MP macro and 5MP depth cameras. A 20 MP selfie shooter is mounted on the front.
As for silicon, an unnamed octa-core chipset is used with two 2 GHz cores and six 1.8 GHz cores. RAM options range from 4 GB to 8 GB, while storage configurations come in 64 GB or 128 GB guises. Samsung has also included the 5000 mAh battery with 15 W charge in this package.
Finally, the 4G variant shares colorways and styles with its 5G sibling. This means smooth LG Velvet-esque lines are accompanied by Awesome Violet, Awesome Black, Awesome Blue and Awesome White colorways. It also runs Android 11 out of the box.
There’s no word yet on pricing and availability for the Samsung Galaxy A32 4G, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it challenges 5G options 279 (~ $ 338) price tag in Europe.
