Samsung accidentally uses the iPhone to tweet the Galaxy Unpacked promo

Samsung only committed a technical faux Wednesday when it published a promotional tweet of an iPhone, the flagship of an arch-rival in the smartphone market.

The South Korean tech giant Posted a sneak peek at the upcoming Unpacked hardware event on a Twitter account from Samsung Mobile’s US division.

“As #SamsungUnpacked gets closer, we’re working hard to bring you exciting news. What area of ​​innovation and progress do you hope to see us reveal?” Samsung asks in the tweet.

A harmless message, it was the tweet delivery method that caused some commotion online. Whoever posted the short message to Samsung’s account was using an iPhone, an almost inexcusable offense in the eyes of diehard fans.

Brand ambassadors from some major smartphone makers have been caught multiple times touting iPhone products and services, but corporate officials’ missteps are a rarity. For example, in 2013, tennis star David Ferrer used his iPhone to send a glowing tweet about his Galaxy S4. That same year, former T-Mobile CEO John Legere praised the Galaxy Note 3, but did so from the iPhone.

More recently, Ksenia Sobchak, who was paid to support Samsung products, was reportedly charged by the company in 2018 for using an iPhone X in public.

Samsung is expected to launch new Galaxy S21 models at the Unpacked event on January 14th. SoCs and other premium components in an effort to compete with Apple’s iPhone 12 series.
