Salvadoran Broadcaster Denounces Armed Robbery Outside Its San Salvador Job | News from El Salvador

Salvadoran announcer Charlie Hernández on Tuesday denounced that he and two other people were victims of armed robbery on Monday evening. They stole a vehicle, cell phones, personal documents and other valuables.

The incident took place at approximately 9:20 p.m. outside their workplace in the Roma neighborhood of San Salvador, where at least three subjects disposed of their belongings.

He says that in the 11 years he has worked on the site “nothing had ever happened” because even before what happened, the area was considered quiet.

Hernández told elsalvador.com that he was about to retire from the company when he met a friend outside the property. He kept all his belongings in his car and then left it on the street to talk to her. Unexpectedly, three people walking through the sector came to them to threaten them.

He replied, “Chavo, I only have my cell phone and cigarettes.”

It indicated that the subject was going to search it, but only stole the cell phone, as he did not find any other valuable items that might interest him.

He pointed out that he said to the perpetrator, “Look at my cell phone, it doesn’t even work.” Then the man turned and insulted him and aimed his gun at him. At that point, ‘I said,’ He’s already killed me, ‘I just closed my eyes, but he didn’t do anything. I don’t know what stopped him, ”he said.

However, the person Hernández was talking to in the street had the keys to his vehicle in his hand and the subjects “took her at gunpoint” to his car “which was about 20 meters away.”

The woman was accompanied by an employee who waited for her in the car and from whom the suspects got out of the car. Both people also had all their belongings stolen and the car removed.

The matter was reported the same night to the National Civil Police (PNC), which hours later located the abandoned car in the medical area.

In this way, Hernández warned his contacts about what had happened to prevent them from responding to calls that could be generated from his mobile phone number, which had been stolen.

“They just robbed me and took my phone. Do not answer calls from him. I’m fine… ”he wrote in a tweet he posted on Monday evening.

In another post, expanding the situation, he told this Tuesday through the same social network, “They attacked me yesterday, the only thing I could write from another device was that my phone was stolen because it was fast,” said he. his followers.

“What I didn’t say is that they took the car of the person who was with me, her stuff and almost shot her in the head…” he added.
