TEGUCIGALPA, HONDURAS.- After assuring that he would form an alliance with the people who voted for Yani Rosenthal, but not him, the leader of Honduras’ Salvador party assured this Monday that he could give the opportunity to the candidate leading of the elections within liberalism, according to the exit results.
Yani Rosenthal appears as the favorite in last Sunday’s March 14 election, with a result of 45.5% of the preliminary results. That figure puts him ahead of his rival Luis Zelaya, with whom Nasralla signed a truce in the next general election in November.

Both Nasralla and Zelaya have been harsh critics of Rosenthal’s participation in a popularly elected position, having served a prison sentence in the United States after their money laundering conviction, they question his suitability to run the reins of the country .
During an interview for a radio station in the capital Salvador Nasralla it left open a small possibility that Yani previously seemed unthinkable. When asked what his reaction would be if Yani asked him to join the alliance, he said, “What if he wants to participate discreetly in supporting the alliance that Salvador Nasralla and Luis ZelayaFor the good of Honduras, welcome, ”replied the noted television host.

Nasralla did not specify what the ‘discrete’ way would be Rosenthal could contribute to his political project, but then he stressed the importance of voting “on the plate” for opposition deputies as “they are fundamental” so that from January 2022 the government can repeal laws passed in the current mandate.
