Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill showed his speed when he scored 45 yards for a touchdown on a read-option play on the road Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers.
All the attention went to Derrick Henry and Tannehill drew the ball, reaching a top speed of 19.1 mph as he retired from the Packers’ defense to get the Titans in five early in the third quarter at 19-14.
That was only the fourth zone read run of the season for the Titans, according to research from ESPN Stats & Information. Three of the zone read runs have gone for touchdowns. Sunday’s score gave Tannehill five hasty touchdowns, a career high in one season. Last season he had four fast TDs.
