Chicago Bears fans have raved about the thought of the franchise star taking over quarterback Russell Wilson – even if it’s not likely.
Wilson has not asked the Seattle Seahawks for a trade, but there is some tension between the two sides. The Seahawks remain adamant that Wilson will be part of their plans in 2021, but anything can happen off-season.
There are four teams on Wilson’s radar: the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, and the Bears. And while Chicago may not be the most appealing destination – given Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy’s uncertain futures – Wilson would reportedly like the chance to flip a historic franchise like the Bears.
Someone who thinks Chicago would be a good fit for Wilson is former Bears receiver Brandon Marshall, someone close to the star quarterback.
“This is a man who wants to win; I’ve never been close to a better competitor. He wants to win, and he wants to win in style. The Chicago Bears allow you to do that, ”Marshall continued First things first, via NBC Sports Chicago.
Marshall, who knows firsthand what it’s like to play in Chicago, argued for why Wilson should come to the Bears. And he speaks from experience.
“I have been there for 3 years. Amazing place! If you win there, you’re iconic, ”Marshall said. “This is an iconic franchise, they are at the top in all sports, probably in the top 10, in brands.
‘So you want to go there, you have a good defense, and they will give you the keys. And I know they’ve already discussed this internally about what to give up and what they want to do for Russell to make him feel comfortable. “
Unfortunately, Marshall placed the Bears as the last of the four teams to shortlist from Wilson. But can we really blame him at this point?
Though none of that mattered if Pace somehow landed Wilson, who would instantly be the best franchise quarterback in history. Make it happen, Pace.
