This off-season was all about the quarterback position for the Chicago Bears. They’ve been involved in just about every quarterback trade or rumor trade, but nothing is connected to them.
But Chicago’s interest in trading for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is something that has been fired in recent weeks, where there is a strong belief that if Wilson were to be traded, he would end up with the Bears.
Chicago has made it clear to Seattle that they are interested in acting for Wilson. But while the Seahawks have been listening to those calls, they haven’t really involved teams like the Bears, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
According to Rapoport, it doesn’t sound like we’re nearly seeing Wilson trading at this point.
“Where we are,” he said, “it doesn’t look like anything is imminent.”

Wilson named the Bears one of four potential trading destinations, but the Seahawks must be willing to trade their franchise quarterback. And while there have been tensions between Wilson and head coach Pete Carroll, it’s hard to imagine they broke up.
That is, aside from an absolute monster of an offer that would allow them to eat $ 39 million in dead money and get into the 2021 season without a quarterback.
“As far as we can tell, several teams have called Seattle about him, including the Chicago Bears,” said Rapoport. If Russell Wilson is being traded, you’d imagine Chicago would be in the mix. They don’t currently have a starting quarterback for 2021. They’re exploring all options, so that makes sense.
“No one I’ve spoken to has said that Seattle actually participated in any of these conversations. It does not appear that they actively negotiated as far as a Russell Wilson trade is concerned. They have listened, but they have not answered. “
With the Dallas Cowboys re-signing Dak Prescott, the Las Vegas Raiders seemingly committed to Derek Carr, and the New Orleans Saints nearing Jameis Winston’s expansion, that would bring Wilson’s favorite destination list back to one team: the Bears.
If Seattle plans to trade Wilson – and take advantage of a desperate Chicago team – they are short on time.
