This low season, there’s a new rumor about the Chicago Bears quarterback almost every week. From Deshaun Watson to Matthew Stafford to Derek Carr to Carson Wentz to Sam Darnold, it’s been a great ride for fans along the way.
But one quarterback who has been continuously associated with the Bears for the past few weeks is Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson – and it looks like he’s not losing steam anytime soon.
Not only were the Bears listed as one of four possible landing sites, but there has been a lot of talk about what Wilson would like to join the Bears, including flipping a historic franchise and some of the pieces they have.
Now, this Wilson-to-the-Bears reading doesn’t mean anything if the Seahawks don’t really intend to trade him. That appears to be the case, although they have received calls from teams, which you have to believe Chicago is there too.
But, according to reports, things were tense between both sides, as Wilson publicly stated that he was not happy with the lack of protection against his line of attack in Seattle, and the Seahawks were not happy that he spoke out.
Now there is something new that is buzzing the internet. The Seahawks sent a letter to season ticket holders, essentially welcoming fans and looking forward to the future of the franchise.
Interestingly, Wilson was not mentioned in the letter.
This can indicate something or it indicates absolutely nothing, it is all a matter of how you look at it. But it certainly shocked those Seahawks fans who read a letter about the future of their team – mentioning DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, among others – without mentioning their franchise quarterback.
With reports indicating that the Bears are prioritizing trading for Wilson, the conversation isn’t going to go away anytime soon. And this letter only adds fuel to the fire that is speculation about Wilson’s future in 2021 and beyond.
