Rondón says he is convinced that the Odebrecht file was made in the National Palace

The businessman Ángel Rondón Rijo, the main defendant in the Odebrecht case, was convinced that this file was made in the National Palace and that it was not only the work of the then Attorney General of the Republic, Jean Alain Rodríguez.

Rondón Rijo assures that the political power at the time was that it determined who should include or remove it from the file, depending on whether or not it preferred that administration.

He added that he personally does not believe that former President Danilo Medina participated in the preparation of the impeachment piece, although there are inserts assuring that nothing has been moved without the consent of the ex-president.

He recalled that there was a strategy office in the National Palace where it was found to be beneficial or not convenient for Medina Sánchez in political terms.

‘But one of the defendants told me, Angel, you are naive, that file was not done by the prosecutor, that file was made in the palace, and it was determined who should enter and who to remove, who to remove. interrogate. and who not, and today I told that person he was right, ”said the main defendant of receiving the alleged $ 92 million bribe admitted by the Brazilian construction company.

Rondón said, when interviewed by Héctor Herrera Cabral on the D´AGENDA program broadcast every Sunday by Telesistema Canal 11, Medina probably disagreed with some of those things, but his associates convinced him that it was him. more came true. politics.

“It is useful for you to start this file, to sacrifice people from your environment, even if it cannot all be from the same side, but you have to put people in, and I am almost certain that this has happened. said the businessman. .

Regarding the exclusion of Punta Catalina, he says he imagines they removed it because it was a project of President Danilo Medina.

“But the strategy didn’t make sense there, they should have included Punta Catalina and questioned the participants, and the exclusion from that work would have been more transparent.

He said that since the audience is not stupid, they realized there was “a play” because they had ordered the biggest project Odebrecht was carrying out in the country removed from the file.

“Because that’s the message people have in mind, they sent out Punta Catalina, so I think the strategy didn’t make sense there.

Rondón recalled that Punta Catalina was included in the file filed by the Prosecutor General of the Republic for the measure of coercion, but later understood that “they screwed up” and decided to remove the work.

He says it was a political decision to archive the files

Businessman Ángel Rondón Rijo understands that it was a political decision to archive the files of eight of the accused in the Odebrecht case and leave the others there.

“The file went on, if I tell you it was a political decision it is because they left four and removed eight from the file,” he said.

He said there is no doubt that the political issue has had an impact, because for the same reason that the four pending are being charged, the others who have been disfellowshipped have been charged.

“There is no difference there, and you say but it is illogical, because how is it possible that they archive the file of eight inserts and leave four behind”, Rondón Rijo asked.

He recalled asking the Attorney General of the Republic of Jean Alain Rodríguez on several occasions when he told him that he would subdue everyone, that he would subdue him on his own, and pressured him as much as possible to see or he could get evidence that he had bribed the defendant.

In another assignment, Ángel Rondón insisted that Jean Alain tell him to impeach the PRM leaders and give him first and last name, he also asked if he had a receipt of the Odebrecht campaign contribution to Luis Abinader, which he also let us know.

“He told me he is accusing three or four of the PRM, with names and surnames, and whether there is a piece of paper or a campaign contribution from Odebrecht to Luis Abinader, and I replied that I knew nothing about Odebrecht contributions, but I have contributed to campaigns for almost all political parties, ”he explained.

Rondón also said that if it is because he has given bribes to those involved in the Odebrecht case who are going to convict him, those people will have to be fired because neither they nor anyone bribed on those projects.
