Moore would work closely with the Disney Imagineering Team, the group responsible for creating and designing thousands of rides, attractions and resorts in Disney theme parks. They will team up to push the first project out of the turnstiles to Disney +, which could eventually host the potential franchise if the first show turns out to be a success.Clearly, Moore will seek to expand the universe in a way similar to the world he managed to build in Syfy’s beloved new take on Battlestar Galactica and its multiple offshoots. Moore has a lot of experience when it comes to building a world, having also played an integral role in numerous Star Trek shows, including The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager.
Moore’s most recent projects include Starz’s TV adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander book series, as well as Apple TV +’s For All Mankind, produced by Sony TV, where he previously struck a deal. IGN named For All Mankind the best show on Apple TV +’s launch list and called it the “most confident, fully realized, and best-executed effort” on the VOD platform.
Moore recently signed a multi-year production deal with Disney’s 20th Television, in which he will take charge of multiple projects in the Disney portfolio. His first venture is the Swiss Family Robinson series at Disney +, on which he is working with Jon M. Chu as part of Disney’s ongoing expansion of new original series and movies on its streaming service.
