Who will mourn the name of Quibi? Who will take quick bites from the tree of sorrow, and cry for all it Murder Houses not yetTurn aroundped? Mourn, friends: The food cannons have been silenced; Chrissy’s Court is closed. The golden arm has lost its luster, Picked out has gone the way of Picked out, and Survive just … not. Quibi is dead. which has lost everything. And Now, it even lost its name.

That is, Roku, have decided to take advantage of the huge Quibi library After the phone-based streaming service bit it super damn hard last year, it decided to get its new and numerous bite-sized additions for their 2021 resurgence. No longer ‘quick snacks’, the various Quibi properties are coming soon available on the ad-supported Roku channel is now called “Roku Originals” which will certainly solve the problem. (Sure, streaming a bunch of content made specifically to be broadcast on phones on your home’s TV isn’t going to look awkward.)

But while we laugh at Quibi for a few things in his short life, it’s bad name, it’s bad concept, his apparent belief that all his (bad) problems can be solved by throwing piles of Jeffrey Katzenberg format money at them – the fact is that it gave a lot of people a lot of money to make their thing, and the Roku takeover means that at least a dozen shows that never even aired on the streaming service will have the opportunity to broadcast. Plus, hey: Reno 911! I can’t say no to beloved Roku Original Reno 911!, Turn right?
