Rock that looks like Cookie Monster can be worth more than $ 10,000

It’s worth a lot of cookies.

A stone recently discovered in Brazil could fetch more than $ 10,000 – because it bears an uncanny resemblance to “Sesame Street’s” Cookie Monster, according to reports.

The volcanic rock has split open and consists of blue quartz crystals with openings that reflect the round white eyes and gaping smile of the iconic cookie-loving character.

Geologist Mike Bowers, who currently owns the unusual agate gem, told The Sun that he’s seen other similar rocks, but that “this is probably the most perfect cookie monster out there.”

“It’s rare to find one as well-defined as this one,” he said.

Bowers posted images of the rock to his Facebook account this month – saying he’s since gotten $ 10,000 for it from five different buyers.

“Prices can be very high,” he told the website.

The agate – a type of quartz found in ancient lava cavities – was extracted from Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul region in November, Bowers said.
