Retailers drop My Pillow after pro-Trump CEO election claims

Retailers, including Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s, and Wayfair, have stopped selling My Pillow products after Trump-supporting CEO Mike Lindell filed groundless voter fraud claims in the 2020 presidential election.

Driving the news: Lindell told NBC News on Tuesday that the retailers called him to say they could get a “boycott” if they didn’t take the action. But Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl’s have both said the decision was related to a lack of demand for My Pillow’s products.

  • Lindell urged Fox9 that “leftists” on social media were behind the moves, which he said also resulted in HEB dropping My Pillow products.

What they say: Axios has contacted all retailers for comment. Bed Bath & Beyond told the New York Times in a statement, “We have rationalized our assortment to discontinue some underperforming items and brands.”

  • Kohl’s told USA Today in a statement, “There is reduced customer demand for MyPillow. We will be selling our current inventory and not buying additional / future inventory of the brand.”

Of interest: The retailers’ move comes a day after Dominion Voting Systems sent a cease-and-desist letter to Lindell about his spread of misinformation regarding the 2020 election.
