Request a refund for Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbox One

It seems there is a reason why early review copies of Cyberpunk 2077 were only made available on PC. Turns out even after the first day patch, the game doesn’t work very well on standard PS4 and Xbox One consoles. And while the developer says there are tons of patches in the works, you may want to get your money back in the meantime. But how do you get a refund for digital PS4 or Xbox One games? We’ve got you covered below.

Request a refund for a digital PlayStation game (good luck)

To request a refund for a digital purchase from PlayStation Store, please visit Sony’s refund request page. There you can connect to the Refund Chatbot, which will let you know if you are eligible for a refund for the purchase in question.

Please note that it may not be possible to get a refund if you have done this downloaded the game, so hope this doesn’t work if you’ve experienced buggy in Cyberpunk 2077. I’ve seen many people report that no refunds were issued for this, including our own Mark Medina who posted his chat transcript on Twitter. You also have only 14 days after purchase to request a refund.

Request a refund for a digital Xbox game

To request a refund for a digital Xbox game, go to Microsoft’s refund page. Like the PlayStation Store above, Microsoft says refunds are only available within 14 days of purchase.

If you bought a physical copy of the game, CD Projekt Red suggests returning it to the store where you bought it. If that doesn’t work, you can send an email to [email protected] to seek help. The company says it “will do our best to help you. From today, you can contact us for a week until December 21, 2020.”

What’s wrong with Cyberpunk 2077 on the base PS4 and Xbox One? Enough. Bugs of all kinds have popped up, including trouble finding NPC paths, missing textures, (ahem) body parts poking through clothing, and a lot more. So much more so that we’ve put together a video of some of the funniest. You can check it out above.

To address these issues, the developer said it will “release updates regularly when new enhancements are ready.” Two larger patches are also in the works, with the first expected in January and the second in February.
