According to PointsBet, the Steelers are strong favorites to land JJ Watt.

The Steelers make sense, given that both Watt’s brothers, TJ and Derek, are already playing in Pittsburgh. However, the Steelers would have to create cap space to add a third Watt.

While teams do not yet know the final salary cap for 2021, teams are not delaying showing interest in Watt.

Watt went official at 4 p.m. ET, and according to ESPN’s Ed Werder, some 12 teams have checked in with Watt’s representation. Those teams include the Steelers, Browns, Bills and Titans, Werder said.

All logical.

The Titans’ 19 sacks were the fewest in the NFL last season, and another ex-Texan, Jadeveon Clowney, didn’t work out as expected. Titans head coach Mike Vrabel was previously Watt’s defense coordinator in Houston.

The Browns could lose Olivier Vernon in free agency and have cap space.

Reaching the AFC Championship Game, The Bills were able to pair Watt with Jerry Hughes and probably improve on the 38 sacks they had in 2020.

Other teams also have a clear need or seem suitable for Watt, who is leaving the Texans after 128 starts, 101 sacks, 172 tackles for loss, 282 quarterback hits, 25 forced fumbles and 16 fumbles to recover.

Mike Florio, Myles Simmons and I were left with a trip PFT PM on Friday afternoon, nine possible landing sites for Watt were proposed.
