California Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., Believes Republicans could be under pressure to impeach President Biden if the party gains control of the House in the midterms of 2022.
In the aftermath of the January 6 riot at the Capitol, former President Donald Trump was removed from social media platforms and Parler was shut down – a platform popular with Trump supporters.
If some social media platforms return, Republicans could give “good information” to voters and help the party reclaim the House, the ramifications of which could be significant, Nunes told Sean Hannity on Wednesday evening.

“If we start providing good information to the American people, Republicans have a good chance of conquering the House in 2022,” Nunes said of “Hannity.”
“Now, if that happens, and let’s – we don’t know, for example, what’s going to happen with Hunter Biden’s laptop. We don’t know what’s going to happen with the Durham investigation. But I could see the pressure was going to be great for us to actually have to accuse Biden, ”Nunes added.
Nunes stressed that he wouldn’t want to impeach the current president, but that “you’ll have people going to say that.” The congressman has not specified what allegations the president may face.
THE FIVE GREATEST MOMENTS FROM WEDNESDAY SESSION OF TRUMP’S IMPEACHMENT TRIAL
Republicans will enter the midterms of 2022 with a tiny minority, only having to destroy seven seats – a potentially small task given the number of seats the party turned in 2020.
House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., Said the party had made “big gains” when it turned 12 seats in November. Polls said Democrats would build on their majority by 2020, but things didn’t turn out that way.
The strong display of 2020 has positioned Republicans to make similar gains in the 2022 midterm elections, according to polling station FiveThirtyEight: Historically, the current presidential party has lost an average of 27 home seats in midterm elections, the site reported.
