René León, El Salvador’s former ambassador to the United States, dies

El Salvador’s former ambassador to the United States and expert in development projects, René León, passed away on Thursday, friends and family have confirmed.

The former diplomat also served as Deputy Economy Minister during the reign of former President Armando Calderón Sol and was later appointed as El Salvador’s ambassador to the North American country.
