Registration now open for COVID-19 vaccination appointments at Ford Field

DETROIT (WXYZ) – The public can now register to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination at Ford Field in Detroit. The vaccination clinic will officially open on March 24.

Officials say that after people register, they will receive a voice message or text message to let them know when to book their appointment. The appointments are scheduled a few days before the opening of the clinic.

“The Ford Field community vaccination site is a testament to what we can do when we work together,” said Governor Gretchen Whitmer. “I am grateful for President Biden’s leadership and for the partnership of the Detroit Lions, Meijer, Wayne County, the City of Detroit, and our federal partners at FEMA. We will continue to accelerate our fair rollout of vaccines, and with the addition of the Ford Field community site, we are taking an important step towards normalization as we continue to build our economy. “

The Ford Field vaccination clinic is open seven days a week from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm. It will remain open for a total of eight weeks, in accordance with the federal government’s pilot vaccination program.

(Residents who do not have Internet access or need help navigating the registration process can register through the MDHHS COVID-19 Hotline. Call Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm The call center is expected to have long waiting times, so calling is only recommended for people who cannot register online or by text message.
