Reddit’s WallStreetBets founder sells life story to movie producer RatPac Entertainment

An internet crook launches a bulletin board for amateur stock selectors, gets started, then watches from afar as this rogue community brings Wall Street to its knees.

That’s the hot pitch that turned Jaime Rogozinski into the man every producer in Hollywood wanted to do business with. Earlier this week, the founder of Reddit’s WallStreetBets sold the rights to his life story to RatPac Entertainment, a production company known for supporting hits like ‘Wonder Woman’.

A movie version of Mr. Rogozinski’s story will get things going and then move on to podcasts and other media, RatPac producers say.

In exchange for a low six figure payment, Mr. Rogozinski has granted exclusive access to RatPac producers – including company head Brett Ratner, a longtime Hollywood player who recently lost a big deal amid sexual harassment allegations . They want to dramatize the story of his role in the WallStreetBets saga that includes stocks of struggling companies such as GameStop Corp. soaring, driving hedge funds to crippling losses and turning unlikely investors into big winners and losers.

Mr. Rogozinski is already in talks with writers that RatPac is considering writing the feature film script.
