Red Sox wants to trade outfielder Andrew Benintendi

Andrew Benintendi, Red Sox left fielder, appeared to be a staple of the 2016-2018 team, with averages of .282 / .359 / .447, 38 home runs, 78 doubles and 42 steals on base in 333 games. But after relapsing in 2019, he only played 14 games in 2020 due to injuries. Now, appears to be from Boston.

Jim Bowden of The Athletic reported this Red Sox have had “serious trade talks” with multiple teams on Benintendi. WEEI’s Rob Bradford heard the same information.

According to Bowden, Boston is asking for one or more prospects in exchange for the 26-year-old patrol, with an emphasis on pitching and outfield. Benintendi has two more seasons under control before becoming a free agent and will earn $ 6.6 million by 2021.
