Red light in the sky was caused by the launch of a NASA rocket

After multiple reports of sightings of a strange red light in the sky in various cities on the island, meteorologist Deborah Martorell shared the explanation of the phenomenon.

As he explained, the light was caused by the steam left behind by the launch of a NASA rocket from Wallops Flight’s headquarters in the state of Virginia.

This would be the reason why the light was also seen in states like New York and New Jersey.

This rocket was launched to “study the movement of particles in the ionosphere, releasing steam that created the red flash,” he explained.

Residents of cities in the metropolitan area reported via social networks that the red light was seen in the sky around 6:30 p.m. and that it would have taken several minutes for it to disappear.
