Rebel Wilson has revealed that she previously agreed to each date for a year in the hopes of finding love.

In an upcoming episode of Ant Middleton & Rebel Wilson: Straight Talking, the Pitch Perfect actress, 40, declares ‘life is too short’, while recalling ‘experimenting’ with novels.

The Australian, who is now in a relationship with billionaire Jacob Busch, 29, says of the show: ‘It was part of the rules of that year, not that I told people that happened. I just gave people a chance and then I learned a lot about myself. ‘

About her experience, the comedian adds: ‘I did an experiment where I dated someone who asked me out.

Don’t shut yourself off from love. I had a lot of really good friends, but I’ve only allowed myself to start relationships in recent years. Life is short and you really have to go for it. ‘

The TV and movie star met businessman Jacob through a mutual friend in 2019, and the pair made their red carpet debut at the 2020 Monte Carlo Gala for Planetary Health last September.

The media personality was previously in a relationship with actor Mickey Gooch Jr and stuntman Aden Stay.

Elsewhere on the Sky One program – which airs Thursday and Rebel and Anton will tour Mexico – the Hollywood superstar admits that her staggering 40-pound weight loss was fueled by 20 years of self-hatred.

The thespian says she “feels so sad for herself” that she allowed her misfortune to manifest for twenty years and admits that she has now found satisfaction for the first time since her teens – and that she wants to be a mother.

However, the Bridesmaids star believes the backlash her dramatic weight loss has taken on is sexist, claiming a male actor would get ‘an Oscar’ instead of trolling for transforming their bodies.

Rebel tells SAS: Who Dares Wins star Anton, 40: ‘I didn’t love myself the way I should from 20 to 40 – that’s 20 years.

‘I feel so sad I did that to myself, just not loving yourself the right way. It’s hard because I was so confident and don’t want to convey a message to people that girls can’t be happy with themselves in bigger sizes, plus sizes, because I was living the life. ‘

Rebel has spent the past year documenting her lifestyle overhaul on social media and revealing her fitness, diet and motivation secrets.

The blonde began to gain weight as she approached her twentieth birthday, admitting she added 25 pounds when she entered college.

She was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which causes problems with hormonal imbalances and metabolism, and Rebel says her condition combined with an unhealthy diet and “ comfort and emotional eating ” meant she would have a hard time keeping the pounds off .

She says learning caloric meals weren’t “ treats, ” was a big part of her weight loss journey.

“What I realize is that it doesn’t treat myself to eating 2,000 calories for dessert, that it doesn’t treat myself, that it’s putting toxins into my body that I don’t need. Is it temporary comfort? Yes. But the next hour it’s fat and it’s not healthy for you. ‘

Rebel admits that her size helped her land coveted comedy roles that shaped her career, including ‘Fat Amy’ in the Pitch Perfect franchise.

‘I’m starting to put on all this weight and I’m like, you know what’s good for bigger girls? Comedy, ‘she explains.

‘I’m fatter now, I get more laughter, people then want to pay me millions of dollars to be hilarious.

‘There is a philosophy that people don’t like to laugh at handsome people, they just don’t. They normally want to sleep with handsome people. But funny looking people like to laugh at them. ‘

However, her success has led her to be pigeonholed as a major actress, saying Hollywood execs “ want me to play Fat Amy in multiple movies and call the character something different. ”

She now hopes to expand her acting resume and take on more serious roles, but admits she has a lot to prove to move away from comedy roles that have turned her into one of the world’s bankable stars.

Ant Middleton & Rebel Wilson: Straight Talking Will Be available on Sky One and streaming service Now TV on January 14.
