Reasons to watch the flight attendant immediately

HBO Max is coming to Roku very soon – like, if you’re reading this, it’s probably there right now. (There’s also a Playstation 5 app now for all the gamers out there.)

So if you are using the service for the first time, there is a lot to catch up. But listen to me for a moment: you should start The stewardess, the comic thriller by Kaley Cuoco about a flight attendant who crawls far above her head. (The finale hits HBO Max on December 17.) Here are a few reasons why.

1. It’s a breeze to watch

Phil Caruso / WarnerMedia

The stewardess is one of the more vibrant TV shows coming out this year, putting viewers in the action and never stopping. Trust me, you will get sucked into this right away.

2. Kaley Cuoco

WarnerMedia

That is it. That’s the Tweet. But seriously: Cuoco delivers an incredible performance as The stewardessMain character Cassie Bowden – witty, charming and, above all, utterly real. It is impossible not to look for.

3. And Rosie Perez !!!

Phil Caruso / WarnerMedia

Rosie Perez, what a legend. Admit it – every time you see her in something you’ll be glad she’s doing her thing. Great actor, and without giving too much away, her character adds an interesting wrinkle The stewardess‘s twisty thriller framework.

4. It’s funny

Colin Hutton / WarnerMedia

The stewardess traffics in some grim stuff as far as the whodunit’s central storyline – murder, intrigue, the whole deal – but Cuoco’s impeccable comedic timing and crackling teleplays keep the laughs coming.

5. But it can also handle heavy things very well

Colin Hutton / WarnerMedia

Don’t let the claims do that The stewardess is campy fool you: This show is about some serious things – trauma, family abuse, and alcoholism. And it does so great, no doubt helped by Cuoco’s performance.

6. Also just a great performance from TR Knight

Phil Caruso / WarnerMedia

Yup, 007 is back – but Knight’s turn as Cassie’s brother Davey is very devastating, especially as the siblings’ gripping past comes to light on the show.

7. Turning so much your head will turn friggin ‘

Phil Caruso / WarnerMedia

Serious. If you want to be surprised at almost every turn, tune in to this one. The stewardess is actually perfect for this time of year: it’s vacation neutral, soapy, poignant, funny, and you’ll gasp for what’s next. Queue it now or regret it forever.
