Realmuto, Phillies take series against Mets

PHILADELPHIA – Alec Bohm and JT Realmuto each added three-run homers to the case of the Philadelphia Phillies, who beat the New York Mets 8-2 on Wednesday-evening.

Rhys Hoskins also took part in the offensive festival, with a solo homer.

The Phillies won two of three games against their division rivals after opening the season by beating Atlanta in three games, which has been crowned NL East in the past three years.

Philadelphia ace Aaron Nola only worked four innings. He got out of trouble with the last two.

In total, he gave up one run and six hits, in addition to five strikeouts.

Connor Brogdon (3-0) retired the side for his third win in six games. Three relievers covered the last 3 1/3 innings.

Starter David Peterson (0-1) had six touchdowns and seven hits in four innings.

For the Mets, Puerto Ricans Francisco Lindor 3-1, Tomás Nido 1-0. Dominican Jonathan Villar 5-3 with a run scored. Venezuelans Luis Guillorme 3-2.

For the Phillies, the Dominican Jean Segura was 3-0. Venezuelan Ronald Torreyes 1-0.
