Unai Nunez, headed for the ground after struggling with Marco Asensio, appeared to handle the ball, but play continued until Sergio Ramos went on the ground looking for a penalty kick.
VAR started a review and the focus seemed to be on the incident Ramos. However, it was the handball incident that was monitored, even though it was not shown on the live broadcast of the match.
Asensio himself commented on the incident after the game.
“It hit him in the hand,” said the winger.
But after more than a minute the decision was made that there was no handball and the game continued.
